Local 4K Support [iOS]

Currently, this app converts any 4K video into 1080p before saving that 1.0 or 1.5 seconds of footage locally. I would like the app to support 4K video and not downscale the video. 😁
There is a FAQ post about this, and they say that they are waiting until there is more 4K adoption. However, released back in 2015, the iPhone 6S could record 4K video @30 FPS.
I understand that storing and handling larger files is more difficult, but I don’t need cloud backup capability. Currently, I’m saving my 4K videos, which are more than 1 second, in my camera roll and waiting until the app supports 4K. Because of this, my videos take up more space because I can’t reliably crop them to 1 second without tedious work in iMovie or something.
In a nutshell, I hope 4K support comes soon.

This has been rolled out with the latest app version on the App Store. Please note that it only applies to new content added. You can set the capture & export quality under "Settings -> More Settings -> Video Recording Quality"

Krystof Litomisky: Android is a harder nut to crack because hardware encoding of h.265/HEVC isn't available everywhere so unfortunately there aren't any plans to support 4K on Android yet.

Andrew: It’s implemented and in QA. With tons of people exporting out their videos end of the year we wanted to wait until the first or second week of Jan to get it out there. But it’s coming!

Just another clarification. This release won't recut your old/existing snippets but support adding and mashing 4k content going forward.

I’ve recorded all my snippets for the past 4 years in 4K 60fps and I’m just waiting for you guys to flip on the switch so I can export them. Please!!!🙏 4K 60FPS export please!!! I really don’t want to switch to another app/service, but this is the final feature I’ve been waiting for. Please add this!

Vinh Dinh: Yes, please prioritize this for the end of the year! I’m in my 10th year of 1SE and also considering leaving for a tool that can do 4K exports (preferably 4K 60fps). We don’t need 4K cloud storage or recutting of previous videos. Just new 4K clips moving forward. Thanks!

Im on my 11th year now and im gutted to even be thinking about moving to another app. its mid 2023 - we should have 4k by now !! please consider it as an option in the settings for pro members at least !

Again, please add 4K support. This app needs to evolve as the phones have for that past years of upgrades. We have more storage on our phones. Give us the option to manage that storage and export our beautiful 4K videos.

I just shared my 1SE for the year with friends and family, and they loved it... except that they thought I was a sucker for making HD videos in 2022. And you know what? I think they're right. I don't think I'm going to use 1SE again if 4k support doesn't come. This is something I'd be willing to pay for, at least a one-time purchase. I think keeping the videos local-only on the free plan should be totally doable. I'm an Android user.

Please Please PLEASE add 4K support! We have phones that support this. We have phones that will hold the storage for this! If people want to still do 1080p, let them. Just give us a toggle switch to turn on 4k for the snippets. I’ve been using this app for 8 years now and I want to switch to a different app. It’s ridiculous this feature hasn’t been added. Competing apps can do it, so can 1SE. Give us the option to manage our videos and data. I want these videos to last for years, but in 2022 and only having 1080p is sad. 😕
