Full HD 1080p video on Android [Android]

Currently the new Android app can only mash video at 720p, regardless of the input video resolution.
The old app was able to mash at full HD 1080p if you selected it in options. Mashing was slow, but that's tolerable.
This is really a must have for me, as there's no point in using the app if the output video looks terrible (at 720p).
4K would be a nice-to-have, but 1080p is really the minimum.
Hope y'all will consider this, thanks!

Silvia Burgos: Thanks a lot guys !

Silvia Burgos: is this automatic when you mash in 3.6.6. Or do you have to select it from somewhere and if so where? I just see mash at the bottom of my grid no other options
Silvia Burgos
Clare: It's automatic, but it only works if you're using 1080p videos to create your snippets :)

Hi everyone!
The latest version of the Android app has a button to mash in 1080p at the bottom of the grid screen.
This is a beta version, but be sure to check it out and send your feedback our way!

Silvia Burgos: Hooray! I've been trying it out for a few weeks in the beta thing, and the video is looking great but whenever I mash the audio seems to be out of sync.

Silvia Burgos: Hi Silvia! I've been using the beta for a few weeks now. The first release wasn't great, but I sent a lot of feedback and I'm so pleased to see the quality of the exports on the latest build are vastly improved! I can't tell you what a huge difference this makes, and how happy I finally am that I can be proud to show off my favourite app again! I have a digital photo/video frame in my living room, and I've had my 1SE playing on there for the last few weeks. It's almost an hour long as I've been using the app since 2013! It makes me so happy to see all my amazing memories 😊 thank you to you and the team for sorting this. I'll be renewing my membership next year for sure. Merry Christmas!

Mork Hams: Thanks for your feedback!

Silvia Burgos: Hi Silvia, this is great news but I cant seem to find the button which allows me to mash in 1080p?

Wondering if there is any update re a date on this feature? I have been holding off on downloading my monthly videos since Nov 2019 when I changed over to the new app because video quality is just too low and looks rubbish when uploaded to Vimeo. Is the plan to offer a max of 1080p or will 4K downloads be an option? 1080p really is the minimum to achieve any type of viewing satisfaction.

Any news about this feature? The end of the year is closing. 🤔

Amazing news, really looking forward to this! Have you got an rough idea of when it might be ready? Is this something that can be put together in a few months or are we talking years?
Silvia Burgos
joewoollen@outlook.com: Months. We're aiming for this year 😄
David David
Silvia Burgos: yesss, it's been such a drag sharing these videos on TVs and the quality being awful and people wondering why you spend all this time for a low quality video.

Silvia Burgos: i will pay for the PRO version asap when this feature is complete

Silvia Burgos: checking the app store for updates about 5 times a day for the past month! 🙏🏼

Silvia Burgos: 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 you've just earned my subscription for next year 😊 it would be amazing if this was done before the end of this year, but what with everything going on, I don't think that's likely. Still, it's amazing to know it's in the works and I'm not wasting my time making all these snippets! Thanks guys 😁

Silvia Burgos: Thank you. The fact iOS have it avaliable for free and Android didnt was a real shame but I'm glad you're planning it

Silvia Burgos: is this likely to be finished before the end of the year?
Silvia Burgos
Matthew Ng: I don't have an ETA for this, but I'll keep you posted in this thread. :)
Amy Noffke
Silvia Burgos: is it possible to save the project while on an android device and then reopen the project on an apple device and be able to export as 1080p?
Silvia Burgos
Amy Noffke: If you're backing up your data to our servers and then restore from that backup on your iOS device to later create a mash, the answer is yes. :)

I have the same problems as well, and i already have a nice explanation from Jon (the support team)
i do a yearly video mashed since 2014, my file approx 1.3GB per file (365 video x 1.5 seconds)
for the 2019 year which i just mashed recently using the new version, and the output only 71 MB!! can you imagine how low the result are? 9 minutes video only 71 MB, and imagine after upload it to youtube, it become worst!
i believe the problem is not only resolutions, but also the decoding also have some problem, is it normal for a 9 minutes of 720p video only 71 MB of size?
if the devs team believe mashing up higher quality will consume a lot of the process time, so just leave an option for the user to choose, if user willing to wait for better result - so be it, if you only wanna mashed for a preview with low quality - go for it. just give us the option to decide.
Thank you
joewoollen@outlook.com
kinggg: bitrate is a factor in video quality along with resolution. Unfortunately, the current output is both sub HD and also low bitrate is the results are poor. Luckily, its just been announced that full HD exports are planned and hopefully with high bitrate encoding, too!

Silvia Burgos: 👌🏼🥂🙌🏼 honestly, even if it's just a beta option that can be toggled on and off, it doesn't matter! 1080p export is bare minimum and absolutely essential as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't matter how long it takes export, I used to leave the old app running through the night. Thank you so much for looking into this, I really hope you guys can put something together for us ❤️

Silvia Burgos: Yayy!! A beta, with toggle option would work for us, so those who are able to use can use it, as is tricky to get it in some specific devices. With this option I'd go to the pro plan for sure ;)

Silvia Burgos: I have made a montage so that you have an idea of how it can look good on the panel

Ignacio López: Thanks for taking the time! :)

It is very disappointing that the old app was able to do this, yet the newer supposedly better app can't. A newer app should be building on what the previous one was, not taking features away otherwise people are less likely to want to use it. Is it not possible to have the option of 1080p selectable like in the previous app rather than an enforced option. That way if people are having issues with mashing a video they can select 720p and those who are able to manage 1080p arent punished for it. Like others, I have no problem with the time it would take to compile the video. Please consider this a priority issue for app improvents, thank you.

Merged in a post:
Be able to select mash resolution [Android]
B
Brandon Le
On the original 1Second Everyday app, mashed video resolution was 1920x1080. With the new app makeover, the free version mashed videos in 1280x720. Now that I've subscribed to Pro, videos are mashed in 640x360.
Can there be a feature where we can select the resolution of the mashed videos? I shouldn't be paying for a Pro subscription to receive the lowest resolution.
